Growing a Family on a Farm

As many of you know, we are not only growing produce on the farm-we are also growing our family! I am now 5 months pregnant and am looking forward to the summer on the farm. Weeding, caring for the chickens, and helping to find new customers have been my tasks in the last few months. I have read that squatting and walking are amazing pregnancy exercises and my midwife has yet to tell me I need to slow down. After a day of work in the city at the school district, I find peace and relaxation coming back to the farm. My routine includes listening to Native Flute Ensembles on Pandora and stretching, then going outside for a walk in our little piece of nature.

I look forward to meeting our new little one and imagine the baby's life that will be lived on the farm. I hope our children will one day thank us for giving them this life. I hope to do things in the "old-fashioned" way during my time on the farm. My hopes are to move closer to a homestead lifestyle-sew, can, bake, and raise animals-to supplement the produce that Dan is growing for us. We will see how life goes with the new addition!

Dan and I also look forward to my sister, Alanna, moving to San Diego in December of this year. She is vibrant and outgoing and we know she will be an amazing addition to the farm. Thank you to everyone for supporting our venture!

CSA or farm boxes will begin delivery in a few weeks. Please email or call us, so we can sign you up for a delivery!
